How to Know iPhone Model Code and Its Meaning — Have you ever made a purchase of an iPhone? If you have, where did you purchase it? I guess some of you purchase it in an official store while the others are purchased it in an unofficial store. Well, it is actually not that matter. What really matters is the model code on your iPhone. You have to know the model code of your iPhone to identify whether you buy the iPhone at the right price or not.   1. First, launch the Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Then, scroll down a bit, find the General and tap it.

  4. Now on the first section, see the Model Number. You will see the first code of the Model Number is M, N, or 3.

You can read the explanation below to know the meaning of those three model codes

  1. M Typeif you find this type of iPhone Model Number, it means that your device was purchased at the official store of Apple or another official dealer of Apple.  Please be aware if you purchase an iPhone at the official store but you found that the model code is not started with M, it can be an indication that there must be an issue with the device.
  2. N Type
    This type of Model Code is usually found in an official iPhone device that previously is being serviced at an official service center of Apple. In other words, when you have an iPhone, and there is a problem with the device because of many causes and it will only be fixed at the service center. Then you bring your device there to be repaired. After the reparation is done, the Model Code of your device will be changed from M to N.
    There is also a good side to this device type. The iPhone with the N type usually has a lower price but the quality is as good as the iPhone with the M type. But the bad news is, this type of iPhone is not packed on a box or accessory.
  3. 3 Type
    This type of Model Code is not as well known as the previous types. Only a few people know this. Why? Because this type of Model Code is only found in the trial version of the iPhone. This iPhone is not allowed for sale. this type of iPhone is intentionally produced with defects, not such a major defect, but some minor defects.
