How to Make Zoom Background Blur in Windows 10 — Think you have a Zoom meeting, but your usual work-from-home location is occupied, or worse, a shambles. You don’t have time to clean it up or find a neutral, privacy-preserving location to set up, and panic sets in. Don’t worry, Zoom includes options for hiding the space behind you, such as background blurring.

This easily toggleable option can keep your space private or render cluttered rooms indefinitely fuzzy, and it’s currently available in Zoom.

Blur Your Video Background in a Zoom Video Call

People use Zoom to replace their background with a virtual background whenever they wanted to hide what was behind them. However, not everyone was comfortable with virtual backgrounds because they rarely work without a green screen or consistent lighting.

Even though late to the party, Zoom has finally introduced the Blur background feature with the latest 5.5.0 update, released on February 1, 2021. Using the new feature, you can quickly blur everything else in the meeting except yourself for a distraction-free calling experience.

The steps below will show you how to blur your Zoom video background before joining a meeting or during an existing video conference on your computer. But first, if you haven’t already, update your Zoom client to the latest version.
